A high decorative timber, varies in colour from light yellow to golden brown and to brick red. It has a wavy grain which can swirl criss and cross.

A rich dark brownish red with straight grain, with occassional dark brown flecks, usually straight grained but often interlocking or wavy. Darkens to a deep red brown with age.
